the sanctuary was cleansed, the service began: the angels began to decide who is
worthy of opening the sacred book with 7 seals to begin the judgment above
mankind. How to define when these 2300 years began? As was already spoken above, the Medo-Persians (the Ram) came to authority in 539 BC, Greece (goat) established its domination since 331 BC. The period between these two empires is 208 years. From what year should we start the reckon? «...When the transgressors have reached their fullness...». It is clear, that the place of the sanctuary was cast down because of the lawlessness of those who live on earth, with their deviation from God. The sanctuary is the laws of God. When did the people worship the Word of God for last time? Will the Bible give us the answer to this question? Certainly. In the key prophecy placed above, there must be the answer, because the question concerns mutual relation of the Jews with God. After the Babylonian slavery people returned to Jerusalem. Under the order of Persian king Cyrus II the construction of a temple began, under Artaxerxes the construction was suspended and was completed only in 419 BC under Darius II (423-404 AD) (Ezra.6:14,15). The order on restoration of Jerusalem was given in 446 BC by the king Artaxerxes (465-424 AD) (Neh.2:1-8,17). The next event, as you remember, must have happened in «seven weeks» after «the commands about restoration of Jerusalem». 7
weeks = 7×7 days = 49 days or 49 moon years = 48 sun years of
the standard calculation (49×360:365). From 446 BC (the year of the issue of
the order about the restoration of Jerusalem) having counted 48 years, we
receive 398
BC. What happened this year? This year God
gave people His word for the last time. Though the temple had already been
restored long ago, people for 70 years of slavery had forgotten the laws of God.
The Bible says that in the 7th year of governing of the king Artaxerxes
II (Ezra7:6-7) God sent in Jerusalem the priest Ezra, who had good knowledge of
the laws. Artaxerxes II was king since 404 BC, and the 7th year of
his government was 398
BC. Ezra taught people the Jewish laws
(Neh.8:2), and they for the first time after the
government of Joshua the son of Nun (i.e. for
the first time in more than a thousand of years!) celebrated the feast of
Tabernacles (Neh. 8:17). The order of those events see here - click. When 2300 days had started? Angel didn't say to Daniel how we can count those days, because the prophecy of Daniel was sealed till last days (Dan.12:9). The prophet Haggai (2:23) said : “O Zerubbabel, my servant, the son of Shealtiel, saith the LORD, and will make thee as a signet ring: for I have chosen thee, saith the LORD of hosts” (AMP).
Therefore
Zerubbabel is the signet of Lord by which the Daniel's prophecies were sealed.
Zerubbabel was the one who rebuilt the temple. Hence the year the temple was rebuilt – 419BC
is the seal by which the prophecy about 2300 days was sealed. 2300
prophetic years (x360÷365), or 2268 years
in the standard calculation, begin from the year 419BC. 419 BC + 2268 (+1 see
here) = 1850 AD. This year after the heavenly
war and the judgment over the little horn (papacy) the heavenly sanctuary was cleansed. In Dan. 7:21, 22 it is said: «I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints… Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High (for their favor); and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom». This means that by 1850AD the Heavenly Sanctuary was cleansed after the heavenly war with Satan and his angels in 1849AD. All of them were cast to the earth. Another important Daniel's prophecy (chapter 4) is about a tree, which the king Nebuchadnezzar saw in dream. He saw a high and strong tree and it was visible for all the edges of the earth, and «an holy one came down from heaven» and ordered to cut down this tree, fruits and leaves of it to scatter in the different parties, and root to leave in ground, and let it in ties of iron and copper among the field grass to be poured with heavenly dew, and the human heart will be taken away from it and the animal heart will be given to it, and will pass above it 7 times... «This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men» (4:17) The decoding of the dream referred to Nebuchadnezzar himself, who was punished by God for his pride. He spent 7 years with forest animals, and upon termination of those years the empire came back to him, and he glorified and thanked God Almighty for the received lesson. However many elements of the dream give us the basis to believe, that the prophecy concerns not only the Babylon king, but the nation of Israel. |
