Besides
others in the "Revelation" there are specific details telling us about
Vatican:
1) In prophecies the image of a woman means:
church. The symbol of the Roman Catholic Church is a woman with a cup in her
hands;
2) «Great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth». Only Vatican ever ruled the kings;
3) «The seven heads are seven mountains, on which
the woman sitteth» (17:9). Rome was always known, as the city of 7
hills: “It is within the city of Rome, called the city of seven hills, that
the entire area of Vatican State proper is now confined” (*The Catholic
Encyclopedia, Thomas Nelson, 1976, “Rome”);
4) The prostitute Babylon is near water (all
the workers of the sea see smoke from her fire) – the state of Vatican is in
Rome, on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea;
5) Babylon is the center of arts, where «And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee..»(18:22). Vatican has incomparable treasures of culture: the Sixtin Chapel with the frescos of Michelangelo, the works of Raphael and the foremen of the Italian renaissance, one of the richest libraries of the world and others;
6) The prostitute Babylon is rich. It is widely known about the riches of Vatican;
7) Who, if not the Roman Catholic Church « for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived»;
8)
It is only Roman Catholic Church who dirtied by blood of saints.
Vatican will be the spiritual instructor of the international union; it will sit on the scarlet colored beast with 7 heads and 10 horns. And then «the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.; For God hath put in their hearts to fulfill his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled» (17:16-17).
Thus,
10 representatives of the UN will, probably, have some religious or other
contradictions with Vatican, they will destroy Vatican and just after that will
give the power back to the Antichrist. Today it is difficult even to assume what
motives can be for the destruction of Vatican, the future will show. However, as
you remember, the Jesuits planned to put the Pope on the throne in Jerusalem
that he could rule from there, as the planetary religious leader. Probably the
rout of Vatican will be presented to the masses as the God's indication that the
time to replace the location of the religious center has come, and Jerusalem
will become the world religious center, in contradistinction to the out-of-date
Catholic center in Vatican.
Daniel says about the Antichrist: «And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate» ( Dan.9:27).
«And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate....» (Dan.11:31).
«But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judea flee to the mountains; And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house:; And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment» ( Mark 13:14, Mat.24:15, Luke.21:20).
«They have blown the trumpet, even to make all ready; but none goeth to the battle: for my wrath is upon all the multitude thereof. The sword is without, and the pestilence and the famine within: he that is in the field shall die with the sword; and he that is in the city, famine and pestilence shall devour him. But they that escape of them shall escape, and shall be on the mountains like doves of the valleys, all of them mourning, every one for his iniquity.... My face will I turn also from them, and they shall pollute my secret place: for the robbers shall enter into it, and defile it. ... Mischief shall come upon mischief, and rumor shall be upon rumor; ... and the hands of the people of the land shall tremble» (Ezek.7:14-26)
«And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days (1290)… Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days (1335)» (Dan.12:11, 12).
So, we can determine that Antichrist will reach the power with 10 "horns", and will be in power one week, i.e. 7 years. In the beginning of his 7-year's government wars and criminal will disappear. «When they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them» (1Thes.5:2,3). And in the half-seventh, i.e. in 3,5 years, the sacrifices in the Jerusalem temple (which will be constructed for the first 3,5 years of the government of the Antichrist peace-maker) will be stopped, Jerusalem will be surrounded with the armies of 10 "horns", plundered, many from the Jews will be killed. As for 1290 days, obviously, it will be 1 month (1290-1260=30 days) from the occupation of Jerusalem till Antichrist with 10 "horns" burn out Vatican. And after that 3,5 years of the antichrist's power above the saints (1260 days in Dan.7:25; 42 months in Rev.13:5) will begin.
«…Shame hath covered our faces: for strangers are come into the sanctuaries of the Lord’s house. Wherefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will do judgment upon her graven images (of Babylon)…» (Jer. 51:51).
After
the distraction of Vatican 10 "horns" will give the authority back to
the Antichrist, and 1260 days of his absolute authority above the planet will
begin … If our assumptions concerning the Jubilee year are correct (see p. 209), Antichrist will appear on the stage
of the world in 2008-9.
